Goals and Objectives After successfully completing this course, students will be able to: 1. Write an essay on the computer and adjust format of document. 2. Apply word processing skills to writing an essay. 3. Develop essays with guided questions. 4. Understand the problem, alternatives, class plan, and action plan of a Center for Civic Education Project Citizen portfolio. 5. Utilize the web as a resource. 6. Understand MLA citations. 7. Engage in peer review. 8. Write paragraphs for an essay by reflecting on questions and developing statements to address the questions. |

Learning Strategies The students will be provided guided writing of paragraphs for an essay. They will use peer review to improve the quality of their work and to observe the approaches other students are using. These concepts will be reinforced through the development of four essays.
